Introduction
Jaga Rumah is a dedicated app designed to connect urban homeowners with reliable housekeepers and day maids. The case study showcases a user-centric design process, crafted as part of the MSIB Batch 3 Independent Study program by Hacktiv8, under the mentorship of Moh. Riansyah, a Product Design Supervisor at ESB and UI/UX Design Lecturer.
Problem Statement
Urban homeowners often face challenges in maintaining their homes due to time constraints and frequent travel. Jaga Rumah aims to address these concerns by providing easy access to various home services, ensuring peace of mind for users.
Objectives
Research Goals: Understand the demand for domestic helpers and explore services needed by urban homeowners.
User Goals: Minimize anxiety around household chores and home maintenance while traveling.
Business Goals: Cater to the increasing demand for day maids and housekeeping services.
Research Methodology
The team employed two primary methods to gather actionable insights:
Survey:
Engaged 12 participants aged 27–36 years from urban areas like Jakarta and Bandung.
Found 75% of participants often leave their homes, requiring extra help for household chores.
In-Depth Interviews:
Conducted individual sessions via Zoom with five participants, lasting 15–30 minutes each.
Explored behaviors and expectations regarding housekeeping services, revealing a lack of reliable local helpers in some cases.

Ideation and Solutions
Based on user research, the team identified key opportunities:
Wide Range of Services: Offer more than eight household services, including cleaning and security.
Transparent Process: Emphasize ease of hiring, transparent fees, and accessible design.
Visuals and Prototype
The prototype was developed to embody the goals of Jaga Rumah, with features like:

User-friendly interface.
Ratings and feedback for housekeepers.
Lessons Learned
This project provided valuable insights into UX principles and design thinking:
Focus on Users: Every user is unique, requiring tailored solutions based on their needs.
